Celebrities React to Boston Dynamics’ Dancing Robots

Reza Zadeh, founder & CEO of “Computer Vision” (whatever that is lmao) company Matroid, shared a video of dancing robots via twitter today. The video features different robots from Boston Dynamics dancing to the 60s hit “Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance?)” by The Contours.

It’s pretty awesome how dancing makes robots less intimidating. Looking forward to seeing more nontrivial Machine Learning on these robots. Credit: Boston Dynamics. pic.twitter.com/wnB2i9qhdQ

Twitter users, including several celebrities and public figures, took to twitter to joke about the coming robot apocalypse signaled by this “awesome” video.

They have the knowledge of the entire internet, don’t have human emotions, are impervious to disease and can beat our asses in a break dance battle. Just give them the keys to the planet. I’m tired. https://t.co/Nh4FGUJPyP

Good news: we’ve taught robots how to dance on our graves after the uprising https://t.co/mCwu4mUMwi

“It’s pretty awesome getting a preview of the robots’ touchdown dance after they’ve killed all the people.” https://t.co/uU2YlAqUjb

Some have suggestd the video is CGI but nevertheless, despite Zadeh’s assertion that the video is “awesome” and makes the robots appear “less intimidating,” the consesuses seems to be that the video is indeed unnverving.

ONTD, do you find the video awesome or ominous? Are you prepared for the robot apocalypse?
