The Ukraine Army just blew up the Russian landing ship Novocherkassk in Crimea (See description)

Merry Christmas and thanks to the anonymous Farker who got me TF. I love you all, you beautiful bastards.

There’s obviously some of the hull left above the waterline to support the continuing fire and explosions, but I wonder if we will ever see photos?

Lots of info here.

Soldiers cook up Christmas tradition on the front line in Ukraine

Unfortunately, it looks like ghostarchive is acting up again this morning.  Since Fark doesn’t like archive.is or .ph or other relatives, you’ll have to copy+paste the URL.  Or, here, you can fight with WaPo’s paywall directly.

About drones….

Enjoy the Christmas show… then switch gears and imagine these drones outfitted with various ordnance, controlled by an AI to assume tactical formations, and sent against a target.

That’ll buff right out.

Stop making fun of Russia.  They have one of the top three navies on the Black Sea, and that’s not bad.

Alona Sobolevska’s sculptural nail art is made to provoke

In Sobolevska’s world, nails are not just for polish but sites for performance art, poking fun at trends and playful experimentation

While living in the east of Ukraine, Sobolevska read, drew, sculpted as she waited for the moment she could challenge the life she was faced with under the occupation of her city and take fate into her own hands. She became active on Instagram after moving to Odesa, then six months later, she moved to Paris where she continues to turn nail design into performance art.

I don’t know what they provoke in me, but uh, something.  I guess that makes it art of some kind.  Here’s one most appropriate for Fark (just because the vibrator one will probably get deleted):

The carcass of the ex-ship

It’s there, the black thing next to the pier.  Really.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia confirmed the defeat of the Novocherkassk VDK

They say that the ship was only damaged.

According to the Crimean mass media, the fire in Feodosia is still ongoing.

To embellish the loss of the ship, the Russian military again “shot down” all Ukrainian planes – 2 Su-24 fighters.

Today, surprisingly, no F-16

.  – LOL

Snarfangel: Stop making fun of Russia.  They have one of the top three navies on the Black Sea, and that’s not bad.

I thought most of it was at the bottom now?

The spokesman of the Air Force did not confirm the statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation about the destruction of 2 Ukrainian Su-24

To hit such a ship, more than one missile is launched. It is about the winged Storm Shadow and SCALP, Yuriy Ignat said on Radio Svoboda.

In Ukraine, in the near future, they intend to strengthen responsibility for evasion of mobilization and other military offenses.

This is evidenced by draft law No. 10379 published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

A “non-holiday Christmas tree” was installed at the Embassy of Ukraine in Portugal

Together with UAnimals, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine installed an installation with a burnt Christmas tree in the Embassy. It symbolizes the Ukrainian Christmas during the war and reminds of the environmental crimes that Russia still commits against people, animals and entire ecosystems of Ukraine.

During the full-scale invasion, Russia committed more than 2,900 environmental crimes. 30,000 square kilometers of forests are subject to shelling, chemical pollution and fires.

Russia Claims Capture of Maryinka, Putin Hails ‘Success’

Piles of rubbles and gutted apartment buildings over a wide area could be seen in drone images shown on Russian television that were said to be of Maryinka.

Ukrainian Partisans Infiltrate Russian Command Post in Crimea

ATESH partisans play a crucial role in gathering intelligence on the location and movements of Russian forces in occupied Crimea, as well as conducting daring operations.

Unpossible. We have been assured there are no partisans in orcupied territory. All those poisonings and car bombings and stabbings are merely Western propaganda.

Russian Troops Surrendering in ‘Whole Groups’ Because of ‘Inhumane Commanders’

There’s plenty of video evidence to support the claim including one which emerged yesterday showing Russian soldiers rallying against their “lying commanders.”

Lukashenko claims transfer of Russian nuclear weapons to Belarus completed months ago.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his Belarusian counterpart Viktor Khrenin signed an agreement in May 2023 to transfer tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, a process that Russian leader Vladimir Putin said had begun in June.

Lickspittle Luka probably doesn’t understand it, but- assuming those weapons are actually present- no one involved in the storage, maintenance, or deployment of those weapons will ever be Belarusian.

Russia confirms its landing ship hit by Ukrainian missile strike in occupied Crimea (UPDATED).

Nice shooting by UAF. Seriously. A long-range, precision-strike cruise missile got through ALL the orc air defenses and hit the target.

Ukraine’s effort to isolate Russia’s economy through ‘International Sponsors of War’ list

Government submits draft law on mobilization to Verkhovna Rada.

Earlier on Dec. 25, David Arakhamia, head of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Servant of the People faction in parliament, said that the Cabinet was expected to submit the draft law regardless of the holiday. “The working algorithm has not changed. The military command has submitted a request to mobilize 500,000 military personnel. The government is developing rules,” Arakhamia wrote.

Zelensky to Russian pilots: ‘Our air defense will only get stronger.’

After five Russian aircraft were downed by Ukraine in the week leading up to Christmas, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Dec. 25 that every Russian pilot must “make a clear choice” whether to continue fighting in the war because Ukraine’s air defense would “only get stronger.”

Despite having overwhelming superiority in the air, russian warplanes have been staying well clear of UAF-controlled airspace for months. Just like with the orc airbases, the safe zone for orc aircraft will now have to be positioned much further from the line of contact, because Ukraine has demonstrated (again) the ability to destroy orc warbirds in the former ‘well clear’ zone.

Snarfangel: Stop making fun of Russia.  They have one of the top three navies on the Black Sea, and that’s not bad.

Let me fix for you.

They have one of the top three TEN navies on the Black Sea, and that’s not bad

For those of you new to the Ukrainian War threads or who are only able to check them occasionally, here’s my post summarizing the WW3 threads for December 16 through December 22 (Days 661 to 667) (part 2) and the welfare check ins (part 2). Had to split them due to the number of tagged Farkers in the update.

Oneiros should be around to post the most up-to-date list of aid links, but here’s the most recent list (part 2, part 3) which should be mostly fresh until he is. Older summaries along with an archive of threads can be found here in a spreadsheet being maintained by notmyjab and turboke if you need to catch up on that. Specific posts are under the “articles” tab. And if you need a good laugh, check out danceswithcrows‘s meme emporium (and now the corvids are collating and cataloguing Bob Able‘s colorings!) or toraque‘s improved Russian press releases. If you’re looking for a frontline account, check Medic Zero‘s substack.

As always, let me know if there’s anything more to include that I missed and help me keep an eye out over the upcoming week for key events.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Economy has expanded the list of prohibited goods for Russia and its ally Belarus in response to the invasion of Ukraine to prevent the use of Taiwanese high-tech goods for military purposes, Reuters reports.

The list includes semiconductor equipment, in which Taiwan is a world leader, as well as some chemicals and drugs, complementing previous measures that targeted the chip industry.
